I have been cooking for about 15 years – which may not seem like a large amount of time until you take into consideration that I am 23. I probably started even before that if you count baking with various family members. In addition, being the oldest of four made it necessary that I learn how to take care of myself sometimes.
I think being an artist it also makes it fairly easy to be creative in other aspects of my life, with cooking being a prime example of that. That being said, I am absolutely terrible about writing down recipes or even following them. Any recipes I post on here are simply a version of a recipe that I have made multiple times, varying slightly each time since I don’t typically measure. Any measurements I use on here are measurements I used when I made the version of the meal that I post. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your own measurements if you feel so inclined! The most fun part of cooking, for me, is the chemistry of it. Each slight addition can completely change the outcome, and you could discover a version of a recipe that you like even better by just experimenting. I will not be offended if you omit ingredients or add new ones; by all means, I encourage it! Please feel free to comment on my posts with the results of your experiments. I’d love to hear about them!
