Oliver has had a long week
It’s been a pretty non-eventful week around here. Georgia had a little ice ‘epidemic,’ so theoretically we got a few days off. I also don’t think I ever officially let you guys know that one of our roommates got (another) a new fur baby.
Meet Artorias. If I had named him, it would have been Taz after the Tasmanian devil. He can be very sweet, or bite you and make you bleed with his razor teeth.
The other kitten took longer to get used to him than Oliver did. It’s super watching Oliver play with him, but we have also seen a new side of Oliver. Can cats take on dad roles? Oliver as a cat dad:
I must protect the kittens, but they will not touch me. I will lay in front of them like a wall, but no touching. I mean it guys: no touching.
Oliver has been pretty funny lately in general. He has figured out that doorknobs make the door open. He would open them if he could. We’re very thankful we have knobs and not door levers or he would leave everything open.
I found him like this on my bookshelf in my studio the other day. He successfully knocked a book off. Maybe he was reminding me to finish the projects in the box labeled, “Where things go to die.”
He also snuggled with me one morning. He does this very rarely. Usually he likes to lay just out of my reach, or by my feet so I can’t touch him. He loves from afar, but always in the same room, so that’s something.
And of course, Oliver isn’t Oliver without his food obsession. He begs for cereal milk because I spoil him. He only gets my cereal milk though which is a concept he doesn’t quite understand. He’s only allowed to have corn flake milk, not apple jacks or whatever sugary cereal Eric was eating. Behold the food stare down:
Have a great weekend, from my kitties to yours!
